The Forest River Impression 242RD is a mid-profile fifth wheel designed to offer the towing benefits of a fifth wheel (better stability and shorter overall towing length) while remaining relatively lightweight. It is frequently marketed as a “luxury” introduction for those upgrading from a travel trailer.
Standout Features
Versa-Tilt Bed: The master queen bed includes an automated incliner, which is great for sitting up to read or watch TV without propping up a mountain of pillows.
“AccessiBelly” System: Forest River uses a fully enclosed underbelly with removable panels. This is a huge plus for maintenance—instead of cutting through a single sheet of plastic (coroplast) to reach a leak, you can remove specific sections.
Rear Dinette Layout: The “RD” stands for Rear Dinette. It features a large U-shaped dinette at the very back with oversized windows, providing a 270-degree view of your campsite.
