The 2026 Forest River Rockwood Freedom Series 1920FT is a mid-sized folding pop-up camper designed for families who want the airy feel of a tent with the modern conveniences of a hard-sided trailer. It is notably easy to tow, even for many smaller SUVs, thanks to its lightweight fiberglass construction.
Interior & Comfort Features
The 1920FT maximizes its “85-inch wide body” to provide more floor space than standard pop-ups.
Sleeping: Features two large tent-end beds (one 60″ x 80″ and one 48″ x 80″) with 4″ quilted cushions. The booth dinette also converts into an additional bed.
Kitchen (Swing Galley): Includes a permanently mounted 3-burner range with a glass cover, a residential-style sink, and a 12V refrigerator.
Climate Control: Comes standard with a 20,000 BTU furnace and a 15,000 BTU under-bunk A/C unit, ensuring comfort regardless of the season
Storage: A standout feature is the large storage lid/trunk at the front for easy access to gear without having to enter the camper.
Technology & Power
Forest River has focused on “off-grid” readiness for the 2026 model year:
Solar Power: Standard 100W roof-mounted solar panel paired with a 12V refrigerator system to keep your batteries charged while boondocking.
Convenience: The Power Roof Lift is a major highlight, removing the manual labor of cranking the roof up by hand.
Connectivity: Multiple USB charging ports and TV outlets with cable/satellite hookups are integrated into the living area.
Exterior & Construction
Roof: Fiberglass laminated roof for better durability and leak resistance compared to traditional vinyl.
Chassis: Built on a Dexter Sprung Axle with electric brakes and nitrogen-filled radial tires.
Outdoor Living: Includes a 9′ awning with integrated LED lighting and an exterior griddle for outdoor cooking.
