The Keystone Hideout 261BHWE is a popular bunkhouse travel trailer designed for large families and groups. Part of the “Hideout Sport” series, it focuses on providing a spacious, functional layout while maintaining a lighter tow weight and a more approachable price point.
The “WE” in the model name stands for Western Edition, meaning it is manufactured in Keystone’s Western facilities (usually Oregon) and may feature slight spec variations—like larger water tank capacities—compared to the standard 261BH model.
Interior Highlights
The 261BHWE is known for its open-concept living area, made possible by a large single slide-out.
Bunkhouse: Features “double-over-double” bunks in the rear, providing enough space for two kids (or even two adults) per level.
Master Bedroom: A private front bedroom with a queen-size bed and dual nightstands.
Kitchen: Equipped with a 10 cu. ft. 12V refrigerator, a 3-burner cooktop, and an extra-large pantry, which is a standout feature for this size of trailer.
Convertible Furniture: Both the booth dinette and the sofa can be converted into additional sleeping spaces.
Exterior & Construction
Dual Entry Doors: This is a major convenience feature; one door leads into the main living area, while the second provides direct access to the bathroom. This keeps dirt from being tracked through the entire trailer during quick pit stops.
Outdoor Living: Includes a 16-foot power awning and is prepped for a backup camera and solar panels (SolarFlex Protect).
Utilities: Features a tankless water heater for on-demand hot water and a 30,000 BTU furnace for colder climates.
Keystone “Exclusives”
As with most Keystone models, the 261BHWE includes:
Color-Coded Wiring: Makes DIY electrical troubleshooting significantly easier.
Tuf-Lok Joiners: Durable thermoplastic connectors for the ductwork to ensure maximum airflow efficiency.
AlphaPly TPO Roof: A durable, walkable roof membrane with a long-term warranty.
