The 2024 Coachmen Freedom Express Ultra Lite 298FDS is a unique “front-dinette” floorplan that breaks the mold of traditional travel trailer layouts. Instead of a bedroom at the front, it features a massive panoramic U-dinette under a large automotive glass windshield, making the living area feel incredibly open.
Notable Floorplan Features
Front U-Dinette: The “FDS” stands for Front Dinette Slide (or Front Dinette Suite). This 88-inch U-dinette is the centerpiece, sitting right under the front windshield. It’s perfect for 360-degree views during breakfast and converts into a large additional sleeping area.
Rear Private Master: Unlike most trailers where the bedroom is at the hitch end, this one is at the back. It features a 60″ x 80″ Queen bed with “Vaulted” under-bed storage (drawers that pull out without lifting the mattress).
Walk-Through Bath: The bathroom separates the living area from the bedroom, providing a very spacious layout with a glass-door shower and porcelain toilet. It is also washer/dryer prepped.
Gourmet Kitchen: Features a large slide-out containing the refrigerator and pantry, leaving the main floor space open. It includes a 3-burner stove, oven, and a large stainless steel farmhouse sink.
